The Painting in Excess: Kyiv’s Art Revival, 1985-1993 exhibition has opened November the 6 at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University.

With the support of our Tymofieiev Foundation and the Igor Abramovych Foundation, Olena Martynyk collected her works into a unique conceptual exhibition, the idea of which she had been hatching for many years. Pay attention to the dates in the title: this is a time of transformation and experimentation. The creations of authors who worked at that time set the tone for the development of modern Ukrainian art of the 90s and 2000s and brought it to the global level.

Many of them have long been kept in collections far beyond the borders of Ukraine. Some of these works can be seen at the exhibition in Zimmerli. The exposition will be open until March 13. So, if you are anywhere near Jersey, be sure to visit the museum.
